Hello
I have DHCP and sometimes internet is disconected
from some w95 stations .other stations havent problems but
other network resources are good
After I made release-renew commands I have an internet
but it repeated often
I dont know it is problem with microsoft DHCPserver
or with cisco 2950and 3550
Thank you

You will need to do a little investigative work to figure it out. When they lose connectivity, have they lost their IP config from the DHCP server? If not, can you ping something on the Internet ( If not, can you ping locally?

I'm not using dhcp, but I occasionally lose internet connections. I just turn off the router, (Cisco), wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. Sometimes I have to do this twice but it almost always fixes it. (I also have to re-boot my cable modem at home, so it may have nothing to do with dhcp.) Good luck. Glen A. Johnson

When they lose connectivity, they have not lost their IP config from the DHCP server. When I am trying to ping
it resolves TCP/IP of but
request time out responses but locally ping answer
perfect.
After release-renew i can receive answers for ping call
from external servers like yahoo.com and internet connections works.
But this problem happens only with 95 workstations
I havent posibility to find any association between
such stations any except they are w95 but not alls of them
Router havent problems because others many stations is
using internet
Thank you

Can you ping the gateway on the network when they cannot get to the internet? Run a traceroute to to determine the last point before ping stops.

OK
I tried tracert connections loose after 172.20.1.47
this adress have only Oracle SUN server
it is not gateway
Maybe this server acts like gateway
Thank you

Why does that server respond to a tracert? Is it a firewall of some kind? The tracert should only affect layer three devices. Do all devices use the same firewall and gateway?

Bob

It is Sun solari E550 oracle database server
it is not firewall
My associate works with it
He made error because let route daemon to run
on it and it generate to me problems
Thank you Wholeheard

Hello friends
That server respond to a tracert again.
I dont know kind of such system
because our old administrator leave us.
How to made such workstations take priority
from Cisco PIX firewall and not from that system?
All devices use same firewall and gateway
