How do you get DHCP to run on a Windows Server 2003 Small Biz edition? I installed the DHCP services on the server. Then opened the DHCP mangement in the Admin Tools. Tried to connect to the DHCP server (which is the one that I am on) and it will not connect to it. Right now I am using a linksys router as the DHCP server, but I plan switching it over, giving me more control. I tried starting the DHCP Server in the services, but once I started it, it then stopped. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You need to turn off DHCP on your LinkSys before the DHCP on the server will work. When it senses that there is already a DHCP server on the network, it turns itself off.

ShackDaddy, you thinking rouge dhcp server? The 2003 server needs to get authorization before it will work? Please give djpic a little more info as to why this will work and why it's needed. Thanks.

Glen, if it's an SBS server, it doesn't need authorization and is just getting killed by the existing linksys dhcp. Happens all the time. It'll clear up right away if the other DHCP server is turned off.

Ya, it worked fine. The DHCP server is working fine.
