DHCP on Novell 6.5

Has anyone set up option 176 on Novell 6.5? We have a large 46xx IP Phone rollout. The phones are currently getting dhcp from the Cisco devices but the customer would like to move it and they are a Novell house. I've heard that option 176 is supported on Novell 6.5.

Any help would be appreciated.

I did an install with novell DHCP server last year, and could never get it to work right..

I had an alternate vlan running for voice.. we could get the phones to come up on the data vlan no problem, but when they would reboot to come back to their voice vlan, it would never work.. i could never figure out the issue.. ended up just moving to a win2k dhcp box with the exact same option 176 dhcp string, worked like a champ..

so in my opinion novell DHCP = bad!!!

That's what I've been telling them but...

I've gotten it to work with Microsoft, Cisco and RedHat but not Novell.

My customer was anal about it though, they ended up making us use static IP addressing on the phones, all 250 of them..


I wanted to kill novell for that!!!
