We have some ip phones that are displaying dhcp conflict. They are new phones and are drop shipped from the manufacturer. We try the phones at a different location and dont get the error. Is there a problem on the server??

Is there a way to release an ip phone on ASA? This is so strange I am running out of ideas.

It sounds like the phones are hard configured with an address that conflicts with the dhcp server.

If you do oner of the following key sequence on the IP phone.

Either

MUTE 7 3 7 3 8

or

MUTE 2 5 3 2 7

That should either reset to factory defaults if you use the first one or clear any stored values if you use the second one.

The first place to look is on the Avaya support site. We don't know what phones you are using but on the site they have documentation that will tell you how to remove/change the configuration of the phone. This is done on the phone and not through ASA.
