We're in a NT4 domain, have dhcp service running on a win2k server. We updated the wins and dns ip addresses in our dhcp configuration. Our clients are setup to retrieve wins, dhcp and dns info from the dhcp server. When the clients renew, they get a new ip address but the other addresses are not updated. I'm not sure where they're getting the old wins and dns addresses because all servers have been updated also.
Any ideas?

Not sure the issue. do you mean the client gets a new IP but keeps the old dns and wins IP?mposting the result of ipconfig /all may help.

yes. new ip same old dns and wins ip. We block the ip and then do a ipconfig /release and then do a ipconfig /renew. we get a new ip but like I stated, the dns and wins ip remain the same. nothing is static.

Have you tried doing a manual ipconfig /release /renew? How about flushing the dns? Good luck.

The fix is to force the dns change by typing:
ipconfig /registerdns from each client.
