Working on a CPQ Armada notebook, if I do a complete shutdown the dhcp client service doesn't start. The service is set to start automatically. I try to start the service manually and get an error 2140 internal windows error. If I do a restart the service starts and network connectivity is restored. Any ideas?

Have you re-applied the service pack for Windows NT? david e

Have you tried to remove TCP/IP completely, reboot then reinstall TCP/IP? This sometimes works but the other times you have to remove all your network settings and then resinstall. Remember after you reinstall the network you will need to re-apply the service pack. david e

Ever get your problem resolved?

I haven't tried removing TCP/IP yet. I'll post again as soon as I do.

Thanks.

I reinstalled TCP/IP. Problem is still occurring. There are two hardware profiles, on net & off net. I don't think this would be causing any trouble. All the laptops here are running the same images, and only this one is having trouble.
