Can someone give me the down and dirty version of the need for and practical use of leases? Currently I have 15 users, and have created an ip pool of 50 for them plus expansion. I dual boot WinMe/Win2k, now when I load 2k, i don't get an ip. ipconfig /renew results in a message saying the ip obtained is already being used. I have the leases set to never expire, which I believe is the cause.
I need info to determine when I should have the leases expire.

Thanks for your help!

Sounds like you have reserved addresses.

In your case, you should perform the following every time you want to boot into one of the two OS:

-before you shut down: start --> run --> CMD

ipconfig /release

then shut the machine down.

When you boot into the new OS, you may have to run IPCONFIG /renew Joseph L. Poandl
