Can anyone help....

I am running Win 2000 servers and trying to set up DFS (Distributed File System) on the PDC.
Running through adding a New DFS Root as a Domain DFS Root, selects Domain Name and Server Name, selects an exhisting shared directory and runs through the first steps ok until click finish when the error:
The following error occurred while creating DFS root on server (servername).com Cannot create a file when the file already exists.
I have tried using other shared directories and creating new ones through the config of DFS, no joy. So this is as far as i can get before i can even start to config the rest of the DFS.
Any advice to what file it maybe refering to would be greatly appreciated
