I am currently unable to shutdown my PC running WINXP Pro. I just get message that DEVLDR is not responding and the Desktop just sits there and the OS doesn't shut down.

Any ideas

Do you have a Creative Live soundcard? Take a look at MS KB number Q315327 or go to the Creative website and download the latest XP drivers. It's a known problem with the Creative soundcards and Win XP and also 2K I think.

Installing the latest drivers should fix it,
