Using Backup Exec version 7 with an internal DAT drive on our NT 4 server, all the daily backup jobs work fine and we can restore. But if you go to Tools-Device Operations, all the options are greyed out.

I have tried different tapes but the problem now is that I need to get data off a tape that Backup Exec has not seen before and without the Inventory function I am stuck.

Where might the problem be?
