a few rls's ago nortel started adding the group prompt to the msdl config, before you added the device number.. does that mean you can use the same device number is different groups?.. meant to look that up today but had some t's didn't behave

Hi John,

You are correct each network group can now have 16 device numbers. So for example you can have an MSDL card as device number 15 in network group 0 and another MSDL card that is device 15 in network group 1 and/or 2 also.

It seems a bit strange the first time you actually do this because your thinking in the back of your mind I hope these addresses don't conflict when I plug in this duplicate device number but it works great I have done it many times now with no problems. With customers always adding more and more T-1’s the D-channels can eat up device numbers quick so it’s great Nortel came up with this.
