Developing CE.net Using C#, Data Access ???

I am creating a Windows CE.net applications for a portable device. I have been able to access data remotely using RDA. I am trying to find out what would be the better connection method (to a remote DB), RDA (current), or SOAP and XML.

Is there anyone with some experience doing this? Or do I need to try my question elsewhere?
