Hello,
i have a bit of experinece in developing microsoft access applications and have just developed a visualbasic frontend that joins to an access backend using ado (just as a learning experince).
What i would like to try to do now is develop an invoicing system that can be run on standalone computers however i want a program that is self dependent.
for example if i was to run an access database i would require access to be installed on the particular machine for it to work. i want to create a database that is installed on a computer and runs within its self eg doesn't require access or other DBMS already installed. I am aware of access developer edition however im wondering if any one has any other suggestions. Is it possible to create the table structures via visual basic tools or another DBMS etc?
I have tried a search however i dont know exactly what i should be searching for.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as im not exactly sure where i should start.
Thanks!
Justin

Justin,

Using Access databases within doesn't require Access to be installed. What does need to be installed is MDAC. This is free.
