DEVELOP A DIARY?

When I finally thought that I saw the light at the end of the tunnel, it was someone with a bright idea which I am sure I don't want to do.

The user thinks it would be good if they had a diary to display the dates, times, trainers for any particular day. The idea is that everyone could look, modify the form within the office. We although have Groupwise available to us but no, they want a special diary.

This diary will need to be like a calendar but have extra columns for each trainer and resource allocated to each trainer and how many courses they will do in any one particular day.

Question? Has anyone done anything similar for their users? I don't have Access 2000 so I cannot produce the colour coding that the user is suggesting through conditional formatting. I think it's beyond my scope of skills (and they are pretty basic).

Would appreciate any suggestions (mine being I don't think I will go there).

Angelique,

Youv've given youself good advice. If you are not comfrtable with the concept then you shouldn't be leaping into the fray. On the other hand we grow by streching ourselves. If you are not pressured to produce it on a deadline, you could learn from the experience. It is 'interesting' just to delve into the concepts of generating processes which are new/unique/different. If it is a "boioler room" - bail out. If it is a laid back situation try it - you'll like it.
