Hi

I am installing a new Legato server connected to the Quantum L100. When it asks me to "Enter the disks or devices, I entered /dev/rmt/0cbn"
It returns a messge that says, "/dev/rmt/0cbn is not a character special device"

I saw /dev/rmt/ocbn on another Legato server. Is 0cbn the correct choice here?

Thanks,

it depends on you unix, is it hp-ux? solaris? aix? issue;

ls -l /dev/rmt

It's solaris. When I typed ls /dev/rmt, there are nothing there, just an empty directory.

hi,

Solaris needs to reboot with -r to remake the device directory after the devices are attached.

try reboot -- -r and the then check the /dev/rmt directory for new devices.
