Folks,
Does anyone know (or know where it's described) the difference between the setup of a machine being used to develop an app with customer ActiveX control, and a machine running the app as a user? I really want to be sure what's going on with my machine when I'm developing the control vs when I'm testing the app which uses the control. I think there must be some registry settings telling the local PC that it can use the control for development (design-time), once I messed with the registry trying to rid it of all references to the control, and after this I was and still am no longer able to use the control in the IDE, I get some error about not having permission to use this control.
Also, a related question is: is it possible to develop an app using the version of a control which is installed on the dev pc, as opposed to a version which is included in the project used to develop the control?
Also, any pointer to info on this is appreciated.
Thanks
