determine when mailmerge doc is printed

I have a macro that performs a mailmerge in Word. It chooses to print 2 or 3 copises of the merged letters, then closes document.

My problem is I can't control the amount of time between when the macro command to print is sent and the close document command.

How the macro is printing the letters ?
Take a look at the Background argument of the PrintOut method.

I've read a little about the background issue. I don't understand what it is. Explain a little?
 
If the Background argument of the PrintOut method is set to False then the macro is waiting the completion of the print job submitting to the spool.
