I use Dreamweaver MX2004 to develop Web sites and just created a Flash splash page for my site. In a perfect world...I would like to direct visitors to my site and have a three-option destination.

1) html only site - main site
2) Flash v4 - 5 - splash page
3) Flash v6 or higher (can accommodate video) - splash page

I don't want to send visitor to a Flash player download/upgrade link, but seamlessly go to the above options depending on their software capabilties.

I am guessing that this may JavaScript solution. However, after a little research (Macromedia, Colin Moock, etc.) I thought my best option is the Detection Kit in Dreamweaver MX2004 which tests out great. The problem, as is, it only gives two options. Has anyone modified the Detection Kit script to make it work for three or more? Any other work arounds? I am a bit new at programming so please share your thoughts with that in mind. ;-)

Thank you, Ron

Detection Kit???
dont even worry about it...
just edit the code that DW spits out...insted of redirecting to Macormedia site...redirect them to your "choices page" or use the ...or u can pop a little JavaScript MSg box....depends how "sophisticated" u want it to be....
if u have problems editing the code then paste the significant segments of it....
All the best!

The Flash Detection Kit works great but I wouldn't give three choices. Do the HTML or Flash 6 versions. If they have a lower version of Flash it should try to update automatically or redirect them to the update page.

Since the Flash player is (and has been for a while) up to version 7 version 6 is as far back as you should really support.

Just my two cents, hope it helps.

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!
