Desktop messaging

I'd like to know if i could get some basic answers on Desktop messaging. Not having the chance to work on it or install it, i'd like to run some question's by the forum.
1. Is this a program that is available for all voice mail types, or only certain ones?
2. How does one install it to a voicemail?
3. How does it interface with computers?
4. How does it work?
5. Any common problems?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Well my personal opinion althoug many VM system will do it but actually the best option is the Call Pilots 100 and 150. Both have desktop mensaging option and interfaces easy with the computer, best of all is a lower price.
