Desktop Items disappear and start bar as well ???? only way to get the

I just built a new work station for a manger . I have built 15 of the same set up 80gig segate sATA, ASUS P4P800-vm, 2x256 ddr400, 3.0/478/800fsb and an a cd-rom. this set up work well so far. He has installed xp-pro and office 2003 pro. when he goes onto the web and then try to comeback to his desk top the short cuts and the start bar are gone. you and do a alt-ctrl-del and re log in but that not making him happy. This does not happen every time but a couple time a day. I have never seen this error before so if any one knows any thing it would be a great help.

Simple check for the missing taskbar is to right-click the start button, click on properties, then click on taskbar; make sure that "lock the taskbar" IS checked, and "auto-hide the taskbar" is UNchecked....

Looks like a good system,but still sounds like a refresh problem,
pressing F5 (for refresh) could help.
Or restarting explorer.exe from task manager instead of logging out and back in.
