Desktop icons and right click function disappeared!

A couple of our users have suddenly found all their desktop icons have disappeared! Also there is no right-click function on the desktop. Any ideas why this could happen? It is specific to the user, not the PC.

We are using Windows 2000 server/workstation, and roaming profiles. Users are not restricted by any group policies.
