Desktop does not load

Netware 6 SP 3, Workstations are Win XP, and Win 2000 running client 4.9sp1a with the latest login patch. User logs in and the results window comes up and stays up, NAL loads but than the desktop never comes up. The work around is to login workstation only and than login to novell, not a very good way to do things. Checked Netware's sites and applied all tids that I found to no avail. Applying SP4 currently but want to know if anyone has any other ideas when that doesn't work.
