Desktop aspect ratio

Anyone know how to re-shape the Windows (ME,98) desktop from a 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio for a widesceen display/monitor? I've tried editing display resolution with regedit CURRENT_CONFIG but it won't take. Is there software available? Anyone?

Depending on video card, you should have the options under Display in Control Panel, check the Adjustments tab.
Set your basic size as big as you like, then adjust screen width and height to your own spec. Cheers,

it may involve the purchase of a new Graphics card...I'm sure there are more cards out there that support this rez..
