I have to develop a website but unfortunately I was not blessed with imagination. Can anyone recommend a good place to go to get ideas for a site design?? Mise Le Meas,
and do a search on some subject I like. I will spend several hours just looking at different sites and trying to define in my own mind, what I like and dislike.
I usually choose something like wine tasting or real estate or even like major companies always seem to have good sites. Gulfstream, Sony, Nike, etc.
Normally, when I run dry, I get all of the information I can on the business that I'm going to design for and I go and take a look at their competitors sites to give me an idea of what people in their industry think is good.
I then make three to four designs based off of what I like on the sites I visit and I generally end up with two designs that I really like which are a combination of all things good.
Other things to look at; ESPN the design of their graphics and other news shows - how they use their graphics and then i decide what can and can not be incorporated. This usually works pretty well.
I go to all the free web site template sites and look at the lame designs but many of them get your creative juices flowing.
I go look at many web site developer sites as well, most ofn the good ones have a client area where you can see the types of designs they created. After loooking at 300-400 sites you will be thinking again. » » » » » »
