Looking to build a pc for office tasks. I guess Duron or Celeron.

Anyone know a good comparison review?

Duron is much better than celeron in my opinion, I would need to find some benchies ,but consider this , typical celeron only has 64K L2 Cache that is then cut down to make a duplicate copy of the L1 cache, therefore the full 64K is not devoted to the CPU, where as the Duron uses it's fully 64K cache. Also I belive you will find that Durons are much cheaper to come by than Celerons. And the performance is generally better(For the same cost). Karl Blessing aka kb244{fastHACK}

Celeron2 has 128k L2 cache, twice that of the Duron - which would make it preform better?

thats celeron2 , and how much more would you have to pay for it? Karl Blessing aka kb244{fastHACK}

The price list i was looking at had duron900=£50, celeron 900=£58 - not that much difference in price.

hrm, why not move upto a Athlon Thunderbird, definitly comparible to the P3 and its closer to your price range you would have paid for anyways. Karl Blessing aka kb244{fastHACK}

Duron, Duron, Duron but the as the previous guy said go for a fully blown Athlon 900, far better, or if you can find one an 800 would be not far off your price slower clock speed but a better all round processor.
