I have an Access 2000 application that needs to be accessable from about 20 desktops (not all at once). My problems is some of the desktops have Access 2000 and some have Access 97 (and some have both for various reasons). Will creating an MDE version resolve my problems with the different releases or do I need to use the tools in Developer's edition?

The short answer to your question is that creating an MDE version of your database will not cross the 97/2000 incompatibility barrier.

Article Q205151, in the Microsoft Knowledgebase, explains the details of creating a run-time version of your Access 2000 application which will accomplish what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I found the papers and am checking them over. Good information!
