Dear all,

Does anyone know how we can achieve this rather tricky scenario.

We are currently implementing XP accross our Company - an upgrade from NT.

We are trying to basically deny our users use of USB Pen drives, but still be able to use other devices such as Printers, etc through the USB Ports.

Whilst these Drives are great for moving data between computers, they offer the potential to move virus ridden files from a users home PC to a work one, and I just wondered if anyone had come accross this problem yet

thanks

Are employees allowed to use laptops on your system? It seems that there are many more ways to "input" virri then from Pen Drives. Besides, if you have anti-virus installed on your system, it should detect and stop any problems. You'd be surprised how many times my anti-virus has stopped intrusions from my friends floppies. Let's not even start on e-mail virii!
