Dear All,
I wanted to demote my Windows 2000 domain controller which was running Exchange 2000 to simplify the setup.
I tested this on a test network and ran a dcpromo. There is another DC on the network so this worked ok.
When the server was demoted, I rebooted it and it came up fine and clients were able to connect to it again. However, I am getting some errors in the event logs.

Event ID: 101
Source: W3SVC
The server was unable to add the virtual root '/public' for the directory 'M:\valhalla.com\Public Folders' due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified....

However, Outlook Web Access does work and also the Public Folders seem ok. There is a M drive on the Exchange server also. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Regards

The errors are safe to ignore. See this MS link for one cause.

Also look at, and
If I remember right they went away for me after I applied the exchange SP3 rollup.
