Dell USB Optical mouse into PS/2 port??

Hi,

Does anyone know why my Dell USB optical mouse won't work in my PS/2 port with a standard USB to PS/2 convertor?

I have a Dell Precision 360 with a standard Dell ("By Logitech) 04P608 mouse.

I first tried it through my Adderview KVM switch, and then straight into the back of the PC, but still nothing!

A normal PS/2 mouse with a ball works fine though.

Any help much appreciated.

The Dell optical mouse works fine when plugged into any of the onboard USB ports.

Maybe it's the converter?

Have you tested it with anything else?

Some mice won't work with usb adapters on some OS's. If you need more adapters, I have a bunch of them on the shelf from computers I've "fixed".
