Hi

I am having serious problems configuring backups with a new Dell Poweredge 840 with an internal Powervault RD1000 removable disk drive. I have tried adding backup to disk and removable backup to disk folders and the media appears as online. I cannot, however, run any backups or catalog the media as Backup Exec seems to think the drive is not there:

Code:
Catalog 00022 -- The job failed with the following error: Physical Volume Library Drive not found.

There is no issue with the disk outwith backup exec and it is functioning i.e I can copy files to and from the disk through windows explorer.

It is not a reserved space issue.

Any advice would be great. The Symantec 'Moderated' Forum is pants and noone has replied to my post.

Cheers

Cammy

Make sure you on Backup Exec 11d build 7170 with latest drivers.

You should be using removable backup to disk.

Is the RD1000 configured in a unusual way mountpoint or anything?

As far as I'm aware the RD1000 is configured normally. I remember reading somewhere about symantec drivers but have not been able to find these for this drive. The drive is using Microsoft drivers when I check under device manager.
