Been getting an error upon boot up on one of our Dell Precision 360 machines recently stating:

Alert! System Battery Voltage is Low.

I had this a number of months ago on the same machine, but I got it to disappear, and now all of a sudden it is back - get it each time on POST. I know that this battery is not low, and further, I know that there was a lot of "chatter" about it on Dell's forum:

But there does not seem to be ONE definitive answer to fixing this false error. I am just trying to resolve it once and for all. Does anyone out there have any experience on this particular POST error?

jakatz,
Have you looked in the bios for battery monitoring that you can disable?

I havent read the Dell post on this issue, so forgive me if what i have to say is already there.
First, there may possibly be a bios setting that you could disable, as maingeek has already mentioned.

Second, how about checking the battery that is in the machine for the proper one. You can use different batteries instead of the one that originally came with the unit and they will work but they will generally run down quicker and could give off errors.
The most common battery is CR2032 but there are a few other common ones as well, off the top of my head there is CR2025 and CD2016 and a few others. Maybe you can find out what the originally battery number should be and make sure you have that one installed. Im sure you know the proper voltage its supposed to be at so i wont go there and im sure you have checked the voltage level on the battery you have in that machine to make sure its right up.
