I have a Dell PowerEdge 4100/200 with a Dell PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller 2/DC installed. One of the drives went bad. The message I get is that the drive performance has 'downgraded'. The system still boots into NT and I still have access to my critical files. However, I can't seem to get the audible warning to stop even though I removed the bad drive. Could someone please help me.

Hi, this is indication that 1 hdd has failed. To turn off the alarm press cntrl M on the bios post screen when you reboot the server, enter adapters and select adapter 0 - there will be an option here to disable the alarm, however you will still need to replace the drive.

John, I can't thank you enough!

NT Level, if the Dell PERC Fast software doesn't work, there is another NT tool that I know works for the 2/SC. It can be found on the Dell web site called the Dell Perc Console or I can email it to you.

Thanks mbarlam. I'll go to the site and check it out.
