I had to wipe and reinstall Windows XP on this 4600. Now I cannot get the onboard ethernet to work. I tried the drivers from their web page but have had no luck.

Any help will be appreciated. I just get the big yellow ? and cannot get it to work with any of the drivers from the webpage/

Thanks

Have you installed xp w sp1 and 2 or just plain xp?

Is the computer seeing the NIC card? Is it saying 'Found New Hardware' or something like that? If not, try a dirrerent slot and reboot, then reload the drivers.
Also, I agree with garebo, make sure you have all the windows updates loaded. Good Luck.

Jediwarrior, his nic is onboard, not in a pci slot.

I am thinking it would possibly be a good idea to have at least sp1 installed as this sp corrected a lot of problems and, if i recall correctly, added a lot of drivers.

I have SP2 installed. The computer sees the new hardware. When I plug in a cable the led's light.

Just guessing here as i dont use sp2 quite yet, but it comes with a firewall. I cant see that is interfering with your installation, but who knows. Perhaps you might want to check that out at microsoft.
Or go to the firewall and turn it off or configure it, might be worth a shot, but im not really sure on that.
