Set up exchange and OWA. Whenever I send an email to my account lets say anyone@thismx.com and then I go to another P.C. to access it, it does not arrive on that acccount rather on my ISP's email account e.g. anyone@theirmx.com.
Any ideas?
* Check for what email-domain your exchange server is setup.
(using receipant policy)
* Are you using an smtp-mailfeed for your emaildomain ?? (ie. all mail addressed to thismx.com is directly send to your exchange server)
* If you use SMTP, check if your provider has entered a correct MX-record in their DNS-servers for your domain.
You can check this using nslookup from any PC which can connect to the internet :
- open dos box
- nslookup
- enter "set type = mx"
- enter "your emaildomain"
- this replies with your name and IP-address of your mailserver with a cost of 10, and normally also the IP-address of your provider with a higher cost (eg. 50)
THis means that your mailserver is responsible for the email-domain, but if your mail-server is not up-and-running, mail is delivered to the provider.
