Deletion of Publications after Replication

Help!

I Have SQL 7 replication configured to do snapshot replication. It seems to be working however the publications do not get deleted. It just builds up a list of folders named after the time/date, e.g. 20010829164507

Are these folders redundant?
Can I delete them?
Can I get SQL to delete them automatically?

I am running out of Hard Drive Space!
