I'm creating a custom database and have no need for the "Sales/Opportunity" tab. Is there a way to delete this?

Deleting tabs in ACT! 6.0

From the layout designer Edit menu, choose Tabs.
The Define Tab Layouts dialog box appears.
Select the tab that you want to remove from the layout and click Delete.
A confirmation message appears, asking if you are sure that you want to delete the tab.
Click Yes.
The Define Tab Layouts dialog box reappears.
Click OK.
