Deleting Rows/Columns in Excel 2000

I think I might have really messed up my toolbar somehow. I used to get Edit>Delete and then a pop up so I could select delete row/column, shift cells up, right etc. Now the the Delete option on Edit has disappeared and has been usurped with Delete Row.
I have been struggling with VBA and suppose might have done something daft.
Please help!

Oooer, very odd. I've just opened a new workbook and that's running like normal. Does my laptop need a priest?
