Does anyone know of an easy way to delete orphaned files? I have finished a web site and now I want to delete all the unused files. Dreamweaver can find all the orphaned files but I cant delete them. Any ideas of an easy way to do this?

Hi askari,

I use Ultradev and after doing the site links check I have a pallette with dropdown selection for Broken links, External links & Orphaned files. You should be able to the select any or all of the files in the display pane and just hit delete on your keyboard. Then just simply choose synchronise site from the site window. Thanks for the response. Im using Dreamweaver 3 and it has a similar drop down menu except I cant delete the files. I will check it out & see if the upgrade will allow me to do this.

Why wouldn't you just go into the html and delete the coding? That's what i'd try to do if i had a problem i couldn't fix easly.

who knows, it may just work.. :)

Maybe with a site of over 1k pages you might not want to go through the code for each page to find relations between other files. That is where DW does its job best by removing everything for you..
