Deleting or Removing Variables

Hi All,

Thanks for stopping by.
Let me try to explain the situation..

I have migrated a report from using an old Universe to a new universe. As the variables are almost same in the old and new reports, they are appearing as for example, month(QUERY 1 with OLD_UNIVERSE) and month(QUERY 2 with NEW_UNIVERSE).

How to delete the variable month(QUERY 1 with OLD_UNIVERSE)?
We are not using the old Universe any more. So, it is not possible to edit the old data provider and remove the variable. Also, Data --> Variables option is not allowing me to remove this particular variable.

I just want to remove this variable, to make the variable list in the Report Manager not to have any junk!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for responding steve..

when I go thru the Data --> Variables option, and clicked on this month(QUERY 1 with OLD_UNIVERSE) variable, both Edit and Remove buttons are disabled.

Also, It is not possible to edit the data provider as this data provider belongs to the old one and is not present in the new one..

Only problem is it shows up in the Report Manager and I want to clean it up!!

If your object is from the dataprovider your edit & remove option will be disabled. Otherwise you can delete a variable, formula , constant, ...

if you want to delete the data provider goto view data. select your dataprovider. delete it.
