Deleting Items in Deleted Folder (Outlook)

For some reason outlook hangs whilst trying to empty the deleted items folder, why?

THis is happening on all mailbox's on that particular server.

you running any antivirus? VAPI mode has been known to do this...just a thought...

Client End YES McAfee V4.5.1 engine 4.0.4240
- seems to be all client machines that have their mailbox on this server

this may sound silly, but if you can spare a few minutes of downtime, run the performance optimizer on that server. you don't need to make any changes...

ran the perfwiz and restart exchange services, not machine though.

Will re-install SP4 on Exchange, then run perfwiz again, followed by a reboot will let you know if this resolves.

Re-installation of SP4 has not resolved the issue.

Can anybody please help, i have rebuilt the server twice now and problem has re-occured, about to bash my head against a brick wall !!!!!

Did you have any luck resolving this? Running into the same thing myself right now.....

The only way i found to resolve the problem, was too build a brand new server.... :-(
