I have a company letter template (company.dot) with a header and footer. I now want to be able to delete both the header and the footer from page 2 onwards - ie header & footer on page 1 only

I have tried Section Breaks without any success

Suggestions please

With thanks

The section break should do it, but you have to set the header/footer info in the second section so that it does not take its information from the first section.

Hi,
You may have already done this, but...
1. Put the section break after Page 1 in the doc.
2. Click anywhere on Page 2 and open the header footer toolbar.
3. Click the Same as Previous button.
4. Remove information from header and/or footer on Page 2.

This should keep info on Page 1 and remove it from all following pages.

Good luck,

Best,

Hi RJPH,

Another way is to go to File > Page SetUp > Layout tab and under Headers and Footers check different first page. You can then edit first page headers and footers independently from other page headers and footers without having separate sections in your document

Enjoy,
Tony
