Hello Guys,

Pretty sure I know this can't be achieved. I am working on bringing a customer who has 5 IP office sites and 1 CM site and allow site to site dialing. I have created H.323 trunks between all sites and numbered them 10,11,12 etc.

At this point I will say dialing site to site works absolutely perfect. So I will explain what I have done, the customer likes to have their extension numbers matching the last 4 digits of the DDI number (fine). so what I decided to do was give each site a unique number, for example if you want to dial the Manchester number dial 11XXXX (XXXX being the extension number in Manchester) in my ARS I have the shortcode 11; (this does work and directs the digits out of the trunk group to Manchester)

But annoyingly I have to have an MSN configuration not only for the 200 DDI block range they have but also another 100+ range of 11XXXX - 11XXXX then match it at the end user. It's a headache just because of the amount of numbers you need to go through and point back at the user. For the CM it is easy I literally programmed it to strip off the first two digits right before it sends the numbers to site, it then gets directly to the user at Manchester.

BTW the main reason for this is to cut down on charges.

I think I have tried to explain this as much as possible. If you do know of a way to delete digits that would be great!

Kind Regards,
Chris

Your short code should be 11XXXX Dial N over the line group for that site. This will then just send the 4 digit extension number to the other site and route to the user accordingly. Of course you could just make them SCN lines and not have to worry about shortcodes between the IPOs and only to the CM.

Pepp,

Perfect thank you, I didn't realise that shortcode did that! I normally always use N; as it doesn't care what it sends after the first digits specified.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Indeed whichever shortcode routes the call to the line in the first place can just strip the digits sent. Also for odder cases, the ShortCodes tab on each H323 line can be used to for shortcodes that will match and then manipulate the digits of incoming calls on that line.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
