Dear Friends, please excuse me but I am a newbie in Exchange. I got this problem: an employee delete an entire folder in my public folders tree. I have the backup generated with Microsoft Backup.

Can you please tell me how can I restore the deleted folder?

Best regards

Alessandro

Alessandro, there are a couple of ways to do this.

The first way is to do the following:

1. Log into Outlook as yourself.

2. Find the parent folder of the public folder that you deleted.

3. From the Tools menu, select Recover Deleted Items.

4. You should see the deleted public folder. Select it and click 'Recover Selected Items' on the top tool-bar to recover the folder.

The other method is the restore method.

The restore method is not super-simple. You would need to restore your Exchange public store to a recovery storage group. Then you'd export the public folder in question to a .pst and then you'd import that .pst into a live folder and move the items back into a newly minted public folder.
