I had a curious problem. I had a mailbox that showed a user with 30,000 items but 0 kb used when looking in mailbox resources. Upon looking at the mailbox (through outlook) sure enough, there were 30,000 deleted items. Does anyone have any idea why this happens. Does Mailbox resources report what is in the deleted items?
THis brcame a problem because my IS was growing at 2 gb per day all of the sudden. I realized that this user had created a rule that fowarded incoming email to a non-existing box then deleting the original. It was caught in an evergrowing loop. When I fianlly caught it it was looping a 1 mb attachment and still growing.
I estimated that the size of these 30,000 emails where between 20gb-30gb, I deleted and purged them. This morning my 1221 logs reported only 7gb of space after the online defrag. I was expecting more. Any ideas?
Thanks
