Deleted Attachments Exchange 5.5

I am running exchange 5.5 sp4 on nt4 sp6 with Mail Essentials 5 and Norton’s 7.5

We are receiving an attachment with a .doc extension which we have be able to see is getting through Mail Essentials but when it reaches the recipient's mailbox the attachment has disappeared.

To further complicate the issue, this attachment can be received and read via Yahoo and if forwarded from Yahoo the attachment arrives in the mailbox here.

We have also checked that the sender (using a clara.net account) can sent this attachment to others outside of our organisation.

We have disabled Norton’s and it still happens.

I would appreciate any help or ideas

I have had the same problem with word/excel files.

Same symptoms, no attachment at all but others have received the same email ok.

If you get a fix for this pls let me know.

V annoying - I have been through SMTP logs for hours over this to no avail.

Hmm this sounds familiar.

There is a setting/option to stop clients getting attachments, or at least seeing them isn't there.
