Delete root name server entries? Or scrap ISDN?

Can someone tell me how I would delete the root name server entries from DNS? I have been trying to get an ISDN cable modem working with our network, but still keep having problems. I had it working for a while, but now the ISDN cable modem is hanging in oblivion. An article from Microsoft says I need to delete the root name server entries, as well as adding a forwarder to my ISP, but I don't know how to do this. I have added the forwarder, although now I can't find it (someone did it for me). =)

I honestly don't know WHAT's going on! Everything was running smoothly, but then I came in yesterday and DHCP had stopped running! (I have DHCP disabled on the ISDN modem). I started it back up on the server, but since then the ISDN modem has been useless. The alert light shines every few seconds, and the ISDN OK light just blinks. Has anyone successfully set up an ISDN modem with a Windows 2000 network? (Without adding a network card to the server).

One more question...I am having such a hard time with this that we are considering disconnecting the ISDN and just waiting until DSL is available in our area. If I do this, do I need to take out all of the pointers in DNS and DHCP to the ISP DNS and ISDN modem as the default gateway? What do I make the default gateway and DNS Server? (BOth the server IP address?) Do I need to remove the forwarder in DNS?
