I have come across a problem with the Created date time on saved files.. here is the problem

1. Create a new text document in Explorer called 'test.dat'
2. View the properties of the file and note the created date time.
3. Wait 2 minutes
4. Delete the file.
5. Create a new text document
6. View the properties of the file - THE CREATED DATE TIME IS SAME AS THE FILE WE JUST DELETED!!

Is this a 'feature' of NT or is it a problem - i cant find anything on the WEB for this problem.

Just a thought, did you empty the file from the recycle bin after you deleted it? [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

No, but it also happens on mapped network drives, these dont have access to the recycle bin. This problem occurs on all of the PC's in our development area (NT4 with service pack 6a)

It looks like an NT thing - I can replicate the same issue under Windows XP. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

Sorry, I should say a WINDOWS(/Microsoft) thing. It is not specific to just your PC, nor to just NT4. [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

It doesnt happen using windows 95! How about a fix mr gates!!!
