I have a scenario whereby Windows XP Home machines are taking long periods of time to access the server. In the Explorer Window, one can see the Samba mount, but click on a subdirectory and the right side of the window goes blank and it takes several minutes before anything is displayed.

This may well be effecting the database that is running on a Sambae (Access).

Could this be due to a caching option?

Best regards

Haven't studied the hows and whys, but this seemed to help mine. thread96-664508

Thanks. Gave it a go but no luck, it didn't change anything. I have several XP machines here, all with the same software spec etc. One of the machines can access the share instantaneously, while the others take forever.

Version is 2.2.8 for IRIX

Any ideas?
