A magix system w/ a PRI. To set-up delay ringing during the day. I want it to Go to AA1 after 4 or 5 rings. Does anyone know any other way of doing it besides assigning the operator as AA1.
I'm assuming that you have DID over the PRI. You could renumber a calling group to be your main did number...then you assign overflow to your VMS...probably 770...then you use a timed based overflow for the number of rings that you want..averages about 5 seconds per ring...the you assign that number as AA1 in your VM.
WAIT, don't use that method, you actually need trunks to assign to the calling group...sorry. Otherwise it will never ring at your main console..I'm too quick on the submit button
Alright Faffy, here is an idea...you could take a T/R port in your system...call fwd. it to your main operator #33(ext)#. Then add the t/r port to the VM coverage group. Then renumber the t/r port to be the main did number. Change your fowarding delay for 0 rings..which it probably already is. This was any call coming into the main did will be fwd. to the operator...but the vm coverage would kick in after so many rings that is set in the coverage delay. Then assign the t/r ports extension number as AA1.
Thats sounds interesting Jinxs. Its a good idea the only bad thing is if you don't have a 016 and would you forward it or would you cover it w/ the main console.
Set an adjunct to be AA#1, and put the adjunct in the voice mail cover group (probably 30), put a cover button for this adjunct on the operator phone. Set the "owner" of the general mailbox for this AA to be the operator. Done.
The mfm way is the easiest way to go, just make sure that you cover delay for your primary rings and group coverage is lower than you Transfer Return for the VMS. As well, you can only get one call apperance at a time. In responce to emiller, you could try to use follow me #34(ext)# at the console for an mfm ext and assign it coverage. That should work. The only problem you might have is the system will see it as a digital ext that isn't plugged in. It will go to coverage..I'm just not sure if it will foward.
