Has anyone run into this scenario? We have announcements stored on TN2501 VAL boards and on our G450's. No matter what we do there is always a 2 second delay when playing back an announcement on the G450's. Yet there is no delay when playing them back from the VAL Board?

Hardware platform? CM software version? current CM SP? FW version of g450?

If you listen to the .wav file does it have any delay before hearing the annc?
Dial using the Announcement Access Code: and also play the .wav on your computer.

When I play the wave file on my PC there is no delay. Also when I play the announcement back using the Announcement Access Code there is no delay on playback there either.

I've dealing with this problem, my experience with Avaya is very limited and I haven't found the solution yet but... I found a clue a few minutes ago. There is a vector that handles the announcement, at least in my case. I use the Site Administration 6.0 tool, if you type list vector you will see the vectors that have been already configured. In one of the vectors I found, the first command says:

1 wait-time 2 secs hearing ringback

So I believe that if I modify the time I can reduce or eliminate the 2 seconds delay. I find interesting that you have this 2 seconds delay as well, I mean, possibly is a standard in the announcement programming. By the way, in order to modify the vector, you need to type change vector (vector number)

Well, let's see if we can solve this problem. I'm going to modify this vector and keep reading manuals and, If I manage to solve this, I will let you know.

Good luck.

This is the second and last time to ask for this information:

Do you get a delay when you dial the announcement extension directly?
